Hi Everyone,

I had a problem with my Samsung Washer Dryer - it wasnt able to spin properly leaving clothes soaking wet (the cycle wouldn’t even finish). So I called Samsung out who sent one of their partner repairers out. Initially he thought it was the main circuit boards so he replaced that. That didn’t fix the problem so he then ordered and replaced the motor controller board. That didn’t work so third time he replaced the actual direct drive motor, but that still didn’t work. So far I am £220 out of pocket with the Engineer (the motor was covered by warranty).

So this weekend I decided to take a look myself and guess what, a bracket which seemed to hold wiring (and possibly a vibration sensor) had sheered off the drum. It looks like the vibration of the drum has caused the screw to rub away on the plastic until it came free. This has either led to the wiring comming lose or it is possibly the vibration sensor. So I repaired it as best as I could by using a washer to hold the bracket in place. I dont expect this will last too long so eager to find a replacement bracket. Unfortunately all the spare part websites dont seem to list a bracket like this. Would anyone have any ideas?

The Model number is WD90TA046BX/EU.

Thanks in advance.

Does the dryer work O.K now?

The bracket is probably a part only available directly from Samsung.
Spares sites only stock popular items with fast turnover.

If that was mine, I'd check that the clip on the metal base plate at the other end of the bracket is gripping the plastic bracket, if not bend it carefully slightly inwards so it grips better and also consider drilling through the plastic bracket into the back plate and put another screw with washer in to hold it.

Check what's behind where you're going to drill fisrt, or use double sided tape on the plastic to hold it to the metal bracket as well as the screw.

Try to identify the part number of the bracket and type it into Google. In the last month I've sourced a mechanical part, available in the UK for £270, from a supplier in Belgium for £170, and am currently awaiting delivery of a white goods circuit board that Google found on a site written in Italian, but with an Australian phone number.
Note that "whitegoodsspares.co.uk", who were a very good supplier of white goods parts, appear to be no longer trading.
