Went to a property yesterday that had just been purchased by new owners.
C/U had been changed some 14 months ago along with rewire to lighting circuits and kitchen ring.
They had a domestic Install cert and the job was registered under part P and completed works was indeed up to the mark.
The attic was another matter !!
The previous owner was a model railway enthusiast and had used a total of 6 old wylex rewireable boards to supply various locations around the attic space, wiring was messy to say the least, and the new owners wanted it sorted (to be fair sort it = rip out) but what interested me was the comments on existing installation section.
It simply said Attic circuits not tested.
I had a little chuckle and thought !! If only life was that simple

well to be fair to him, when he changed the main board he was only really duty bound to ensure compliance of the sub main circuit supplying the first cu in the attic, if that was ok then id probably do the same as long as there were no blatant C1 faults, you have to draw the line somewhere, youd end up working for free otherwise

(im assuming there was actually a submain and the boards were not all spurred off the ring or lighting circuit)
