hi and thanks
could some one give me a heads up on how to wire x1 inline fan with timer to activate with 2 bathrooms ie either switch will turn fan on switches located outside of the bathroom and fan has a triple pole isolator

Double pole switches, simples.
As many trigger points as you like, wired similar to an S plan heating system.
As post 2.
Relays, you would only need one as the switch pulling in the relay can break the backfeed with its spare contacts.
Only once did i come across it done with diodes. 3 wcs in an office.

But with 2 x relays you could have the 3 amp fuse that fools obsess over installing for the fan without it affecting either bathroom's light when it blows.

Slightly off topic, but apparently the NIC inspector around here picks people up on the 3A fuse for fans. Our local CEF have a range that they advertise as being 6A with manufacturers instructions to match to get around it!

Not NIC myself so can't verify the story, but can well believe it!

Roll on amendment 3, manufacturers instructions will cease to be gospel and a bit if common sense may be allowed in once again!

If you're selective about which bits of the current regs you take notice of, you can choose your own way already: 510.3 "...shall take account of manufacturers' instructions."

Doesn't say you have to follow them to the letter.
