Does anyone else move the incomer on domestic Cu's to suit tail position? Every Wylex I've ever used is on the right hand side.

Thought the busbars were also designed to link line to the first protective device as they are next to each other

generally they are. once came across a CU ( forget the make, might have been sq.D.) where it wasn't that way and the busbar was cranked behind the N outgoing tail.
