I am after a wall mounted cabinet to house a landlords meter and possible a small distribution board (or even just 2 SFCUs). Ideally something that is slightly more pretty than your standard meter box as it has to sit in the stairwell of some offices.
Something around 450x300x150mm would be about right I think.

Anyone got any ideas/sources? All the ones I have found either look very industrial or are very expensive - did I mention the landlord doesn't want to spend much money on this?.... :(

make up a small cupboard....
charge price for it...
if he dont like it...tell him where to go...
sick of tite arsed landlords me...

just measure out the height & width of the cabinet you plan to construct...make an allowance for access etc...
make 2 identical frames..
then judge how far out the cupboard is to stand from the wall....and cut wood to suit...
make up the box frame and fix to the wall...then clad it all round (apart from the front) with ply...
then cut 2 bits of ply to serve as doors...
screw hinges to them both (one edge only)...then fix to frame (front)..but within the frame edge so they close flush....
handles & latch to finish...

Then fill all screw/nail holes, rub down with progressively finer sandpaper, wipe surfaces with tack cloth to remove any dust, then prime or undercoat, rub down again, wipe with tack cloth and apply top coat paint finish. Charge landlord £200 labour and £7.50 materials for this bespoke cupboard........

.......Alternatively buy and install meter cupboard for £40!

If it's buried ducting, have you thought about digging up a section of the buried cable close by, cutting it and pulling in a few extra meters...
