I've been asked to provide a price for a 50kWp PV system complete with battery storage. Anyone ever done anything like that before?

There situation is relatively unusual. They have plenty of roof space yet only use 35,000kWh power a year. So a 50kWp system is far too big anyway in my opinion. And I'm thinking anything more than 5kWh of storage would be pointless.

Anyone have any thoughts? Or know any good suppliers with good advice?

solax make hybrid 3 phase battery inverters up to 10kW, available via sibert.

1 of them plus 1 standard should do it. But it will only be cost effective for under 30kWp as it only works with deemed export, as once you take off the lost export payment the economic don't stack up.

Thanks for that, Gavin. I did check Sibert but didn't see that on the website. I'll check them out tomorrow.

As for the deemed export point, I actually hadn't considered that. At the very least, anything above 30kWp will probably want to opt out of receiving any export payments I would imagine, considering the costs of the meter. Anyone know how much they cost nowadays? Haven't had one installed for years.

The customer is keen on the idea of battery storage even though I think it's a bad idea in their case. Their usage after 5pm is tiny.
