Hi

I'm a bit confused.....

If you have c&g 2365 level 2&3 17th edition and nvq level 3 are you able to self cert your own work? If so why would you need inspect and test qualification?

I'm still fairly new to it all

as long as you are competent to test. for domestics you need to notify some jobs to LABC. for that membership of a scam is advisable. having 2391 ( or 2395 as it is now) would be to your advantage if any dispute and/or legal action were to come as a result of your work.

So pretty much everything falls under "competence"?

So surely that would mean anyone can just go out and rewrite their homes? Doesn't seem to be very well regulated

You need no testing certs to be considered competent. Many have the certs with no competence at all.

Problem is the competent person schemes lean toward them to prove competence.

As widdler.

If you ever get the inclination to read the Memorandum of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, the you will see that no where in their is there any reference to qualifications, it just states competence. Only you can decide if you are competent, look at the definition of "Competent Person" in BS7671.

Cheers……………Howard
