I have a customer who wants to install a 4kW system before the 12th and then plans to knock down the building and redevelop in the coming months, putting the panels back on at a later date.

Does anyone know whether this can be done in a way that keeps the current FiT rate??

Thanks

Got 2 customers doing the same, 1 mounting on a barn, other using suntubs.........

Got one doing the same - wants to install on his house before moving it to the bungalow - not finished. And knocking down the house. Same mpan.

The bungalow is finished in jan. The house is three stories, peg tiles, and any decent structural engineer would condem it. The installation is now going in his garden.

As long as the installation is on the same 'site' then there shouldn't be any problem with this.

Definition of 'site' is

means the premises to which are attached one or more Accredited FIT Installations or Eligible Installations in close geographical proximity to each other, to be determined as required by the Authority by reference to:
(a) the relevant Meter Point Administration Number for electricity supply;
(b) street address;
(c) OS grid reference;
and any other factors which the Authority at its discretion views as relevant;

Moving an installation that is already FiTs accredited to a different 'site' is definitely not allowed and would mean that the re-erected system would not be eligible for FiTs.

Are there any rules (e.g. in G83) which state if a system is offline for a certain time it should officially be decomissioned. i.e. is there a maximum time the system could be off roof during works?
