Hello! Before I moved into my house there was a washing machine in the old airing cupboard (now have combi boiler) in the bathroom. We've added an extension utility room and moved the washing machine into it. The 2-gang socket that used to power the washing machine at of the back the cupboard is blanked off and the wires have been pushed into wago style plugs. There is a fused on/off switch running from it to the front of the cupboard. I've checked with a mains tester and the switched socket appears to still be live.
I would like to surface mount a dedicated toothbrush induction charger, either a Proofvision or Click style. I'm leaning towards the Click as it only requires a 25mm back box as opposed to a 47mm for the Proofvision. I would prefer to surface mount as there is a solid brick wall behind and I do not want to be making holes in it. This would still be in the cupboard, just above the fused switch but obviously the power will need to come from the socket at the back of the cupboard. What's the safest way to extend the power supply so I can do this. I will still like to use the fused switch for safety.
Also, I'm assuming this is even legal in the UK? I'm just going with the fact there was already a socket there so in theory it must have been ok. I do not want any other power source other than this charger.
Thank you!
