If that's all I need to do I can do it myself am I amlowed by law to do that ?
 
It doesn't come under Part P and it is not classes as Notifiable Work if that is what you are asking by "Allowed by law to do that?"
As well as Tel's advice I'm sure you will also follow the advice in the first paragraph on post #10. All is good...
 
yes. it's just an accessory swap. if you are competent to do it. get the cables in the right order and safely connected. only drawback is that you don't possess the test equipment to ensure complete safety. if in doubt, get a spark to check it for you or even do the job. it's only a basic call-out fee of £30 - £40.
 
Thanks to everyone for the help I'm gonna fit a 45a cooker connection unit tomorrow. Just one more question is it ok to take a spur from it to strictly power my job ignition or is that a no no?

allowing for diversity a 32 amp supply will be fine for them both, but remember, the cable needs to be adequate to cope with a load on up to that...
