Hello,

Something I havnt come across as a sparky till now.

I've been asked to install an extra meter for a flat above a shop.

How do I go about doing this? I mean it's obvious to wire but who do I need to contact etc. and as it ok for me to do it or do the electricity board have to do it?

Any help would be great!

It depends.
You can install a check meter, one that is owned by the Landlord, or the freeholder, so that the person who pays the electric bill, can then charge the Tennant or lessee.
Or you can arrange for a new metered supply to be installed.
You would have to arrange with an energy supplier to carry out a survey, in order to determine where to site the meter, then you would have to arrange the existing or new installation accordingly, so that when the meter company install the meter, the installation can be connected.
In some circumstances, it is possible to arrange the installation of a meter, and then re-arrange the existing installation, but this would entail a return visit from the meter company for connection.
