Im looking at installing the Ring Doorbell Pro in the UK
I currently have a bell chime thats hardwired to the lighting circuit with a built in 6volt transformer. I understand that this is too low to run the ring doorbell pro.
I know it comes with a DIN transformer but this just isnt practical because of where the door bell wires are run too.
I was hoping to do one of two things
Would this work? I have been told that the Byron776 will power this. I don't really see how because this only works at 8Volt but the minimum is 16volt 1amp for the ring doorbell pro. I have seen on youtube people using Byron776 chime with built in transformer as for some reason it gives out just under 16 volt when tested as the ring push.
Has any one used byron776 and powered the ring door bell pro with no issues like buzzing, heat issues etc.
If the doesnt work i was thinking of removed the wires in the existing chime and running a power adaptor like https://www.amazon.co.uk/1000ma-Output-Power-Adaptor-Transformer/dp/B079T543BQ or https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07GVRNW9K/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza into the existing chime and connecting the cables to the two ring push cables. So effectively disconnecting all the power in the ring chime itself and just using it as housing will connecting the plugged in transformer to the existing ring push cables within the old disconnected chime.
Im just worried about power issues such as the plug getting hot as these two adaptors are running at 18volts an 600ma where i think the device needs 1amp will this cause it to over heat
As could i place the provided DIN transformer inside the existing door bell chime on its side as long as the cables are secure?
I can't place the transformer DIN housing because of where the existing chime and doorbell push cables are located
