Hi has anyone ever used or owned a TIS 5208 insulation multimeter? And does anyone know what a fair price would be to pay for a new one?

My robin insulation tester playing up and can get one of these TIS 5208 units for £50 and it seems a decent unit at that price
The list price for a new TIS 5208 is £263+VAT, so if you can get one for £50 that seems a very good deal mate. Calibration, if required would be about £35.

Cheers Markie I looked at that too, just wondered if that price was accurate to what you would actually pay through a wholesalers/dealer, but still yeah I think it's a good deal for a decent tester

A mate of mine texted that, from memory, he paid approximately £120+VAT for one about a year ago, but he can't remember the supplier. I asked him to try and find the paperwork, but he's the most disorganised chap I've ever met, so it may take while.

call me old fashioned, but if i want to megger test ( OK i know, insulation resistance test) i use a tool that says megger on it, does exactly what it says on the tin.

Cheers Markie, and yeah thanks point taken tel, it's just that I have the TIS already in my possession and I quite like it and think il give it a try.
