damp from the plaster may have leached into the fitting/sand/or cables but only affected the L/E. if you leave it on test for a minute or 2 and the reading creeps higher, that is a good indication of dampness.

Should we be telling these young'uns this Tel .................. energies the circuit put a load on the cable and check next day ...............

But if you do put the low reading on the SoTR and the assessor asks you just tell him that the place was re plastered and the low resutls are due to a little dampness, but as they are over the 2Mohm required you are happy with them.

you coiuld even put on your test results >10M. for all circuits. all the regs. require is that the readings are >2M.
I was lead to believe it was a minimum of 1 MEG tel................2 MEG when testing at the tails......latient defect....parallel resistances n all that............

as i understand, 1Meg. is a minimum, but anything under 2 Meg should be investigated as it's a potential breakdown, and could deteriorate further.

Such a funny reg I always thought, why can't they just do us all a favour and say anything under 2M a problem. :p
