as an absolute amateur i would find it very helpful to revise the regs at home or whenever i get a spare minute , where can i pick up either a copy of them or a newly printed source ??
N-E Could be as previously stated because they share a common path and as they are in parallel then the total value will reduce, however i find this quite often not to be the case and it comes to mind from a call out yesterdy over a rcd trip.
common test between N-E bar showed ir value of 3.2Mohms after disconecting circuits neutral one at a time the reading clears when ring was disconnected traced to a faulty digibox hidden in a cupboard.
so the poor reading when taken from the bars showed up accross all circuits but was actually being reduced by one circuit alone and not a total resistance in parallel theory - just something to bear in mind as stated earlier best to test conductors seperately in my opinion.
ps: the rcd trip was traced down to boiler pump not the faulty digi box
