Did you soft test this sky box or just fry it? (live and neutral of the circuit together to earth) If you were testing live to earth you would get a reading if testing normally thro the neutral.
Been to numerous domestic call outs where kettle has been the culprit........ not being faulty! people like to stick them over the sink bowl(with water in it) when filling them up and fill the connections with water too...........one to watch for!

Lives to earth

Dodgy mains lead, don't forget a RCD will trip on Live/Neutral imbalance as well as earth leakage. Check connections in plug, and is fuse held tightly in its holder, is the cord grip too tight crushing flex. This is classic with stuff like hairdryers, when the flex begins to break where it out of sight at the entry to the handle.

Cheers............Howard

Moulded plug was fitted, TBH never checked the fuse holder condition either.

fridge in kitchen,I mean how small would a can of beer have to be to fit in a fridge in a sky box?
americans, australians and other philistines chill beer. beer should be at 50deg.F. ( lager is for them that bombed our chippy )

Could it be the socket that the digibox is plugged into has a high res short only when the lead is plugged in? could be a bit of STUFF in the socket.

Might be a can of beer that fell out of the fridge in the digibox.
Well, it's a thought - just trying to keep it real.
