hi chaps been asked to carry out testing on a cu on an office floor and called in for a quick look whilst in the area today and noticed all the lighting ( main-downlights ) were fed from the cu via contactors and am asking when it comes to the insulation testing for the lighting circuit would i be " lim " this circuit totally or can any part of this test be carried out ?

any help please before monday-cheers !

Discuss limitations with the person requesting the work, there are a number of options; no IR test, test to contactor only, test both sides of the contactor (at the contactor). All are feasable, but only you will know the diificulty of the last (IMHO; best) option.

Personally i would carry out the tests in 2 parts.

Cables from db to contactors and then cable from contactors to final circuits this would also apply to R1 + R2
