Hi ladies and gents, my first post.

Can anyone clarify a few things?

Can the PME earth (TNC-s) earth provided by the dno be extended out into a field? lets say for a solar farm of just 50kW? I have been informed that it can by a representitive from ELECSA but I was always under the impression that the armour earth should be terminated at the far end and an earth e;lectrode installed to convert the far end installation to TT system, I have been with NICEIC for years, (ensuring labelling in place and that the 2 earths could not be simultainiously touched)

Also can anyone tell me the largest size of service head/cut out fuse provided by the DNO? I have only ever been familiar with 100A 3 phase. Therefore plans for a new PV installation above 50kW (>74 ish Amps per phase) would require discussions around the transformer size on site/nearby?

Have any of you got suggestions for books or short courses on introduction to HV?

Thanks guys!

If you’re generating 50KVA why would you want a service head above 100A? What sort of location are you in as you’re concerned about the local transformer?

What would you want the HV training for? It doesn’t seem from your other posts that you do any industrial work.

I think I might be tempted to test this theory, if it can be done without causing danger to anyone.
