saw a programme about london underground once and all their spark did to fix a fault on a train was hit the control panel with a large screwdriver, wouldn,t that make it similar to a fitters job then

If it's anything like wiring boats it'll be nothing like wiring houses.
I expect all the cables will be flexible (no T&E), probably a lot of ELV DC control wiring looms terminated in Deutsch connectors with all sorts of sensors, relays and solenoids spidering out from pre-formed boxes which someone else makes.
Chances are they've tried to make it 'plug and play', the idea being anyone can come in and plug it all together, they just need to know what plugs in where.

nothing not even gave him a cv to hand in for me, think it came about by his gaffer asking him if he knew a spark they are looking for someone he has only been there for 4-5 monthshimself he preps the trains before the are sprayed

Thats right there is no T+E or singles, everything comes in predetermined bunches in flexible copex.I dont think you could blag it if you werent an experienced spark.I worked on the new trains for the Jubilee line about 7 years ago it has probably changed now
