Hi guys. I have an interview coming up for a position of Generator Engineer-Electrical. I was wondering if any of you had any tips. Cheers.

Dress smartly even if the job won't require you to.
Take a copy of your CV to refer to in the interview, along with a pad to write things down on.
They'll ask you if you've got any questions - write some down on your pad beforehand, even if they're questions you fully expect them to answer during the interview, then refer back to them. It's better to be able to check your questions then say "no I think you've answered all the questions I had" than be seen not to have bothered preparing any.
Research the company before you go - chances are they'll ask you what you know about them.
Lastly remember to give a good, firm handshake.
Good luck!

Yeah maybe Adams approach is more suitable than mine!!

Don't BS them, if they ask about something that you know you're weak put your hands up to it them but stress, and give examples of how you've done it in the past, that you're a quick learner.
Good luck mate, let us know how you get on.

don't turn up pi$$ed. don't head butt them when they turn you down. oops, for a moment i thought you were a geordie. :smilielol5::smilielol5::smilielol5:

From the other side of the desk.....
Keep it simple.
Answer what you are asked - do not waffle. The interviewer neither needs nor wants your whole life story.

If you don't know the answer to a question just say so. Don't try to bullshyte.

Do your homework. Find out what you can about your prospective employer. What do they do that you where make a positive contribution. Can you bring business? Can you offer skills that could give them an edge?

Be prepared for the "where do you expect to be in three years time?" question.

And, above all, be honest.

If asked to explain the operation of the AVC what will your answer be?

Just be sure you know something about generators, otherwise don’t show up.

Sound advice, been interviewing recently asked applicant to give me their experience and background gave my everything except what they had done electrically.
