It is made here, SY cable has the cpc sheathed,so they could easily make some without the sy bit. (assuming of course that SY is made in this country). - I used a lot of it in vermin infested lofts- regs say has been or likely to be infested - this i now believe to be not exactly a requirement, but snags and solutions give it as an answer to rts and mice. I love them. From a discussion once its unsheathed to allow for the fact that if one of the line conductors is damaged, then if the cpc is unsheathed then its more likely to throw a wobbly down the cpc if its in ready contact with it, i.e. unsheathed. Would make for a thicker cable though, some re- wires are tight enough as it is !!
Does any one know how they made the old lead wiring ? I cant see a seam in the bit I have liberated , and the rubber insulation inside around the conductors would of melted if there had been any heat involved, sad but just something i always wondered about !!
