Word of mouth and referrals , we find it tends to weed out the chancer's from the start !

Had a few calls from lead generators, and they just dont take no as an answer. "Oh but we ONLY charge £35 per lead and only pass those to 3 companies......"

I Adverise on the truck, clothing and have a couple of leaflet displays in some local shops. Word of mouth os by far the best.......

I know we're in a slightly different position to most of you guys, being suppliers rather than installers - but the same applies at this end, we're getting more and more phone calls at the moment, at odd occasions I can see them queueing up! So theres definitely an upswell of interest at the moment.....

The phone has gone mad and I'm busier than I've ever been. Our conversion rate has dropped however, and most of my time is therefore spent in the office or surveying.

Any idea why the conversion is dropping off - do you think people are just getting more quotes than before?

Not sure. I suspect the main reason is competition. We have lost job to firms where the customer has been outright lied to. Not a lot you can do about that.

Conversion rate is low with me too, but not much noticable going up. I think there is more in the media about solar and the FIT, therefore stirring up interest, coupled with the energy price hikes I think everyone is looking round....

What sort of conversion rate are you getting? I'd have thought one in 5/6 would have been fairly normal, it certainly was when we started.
