as far as I can, some of the back is missing but the electrics seem intact?

thanks all. i understood the back was missing, just wasnt sure if anything internal was missing
It won't matter as the replacement plug will come with all the required parts.

My first post was rather harsh as I assumed this was a troll post... And by I needs to be replaced should have been it needs to be replaced! (I hope I don't need replacing yet!)

What the heck happened to that plug top , looks like someone has taken a multi-tool to it to create that near perfect V shape

Must be a wind up , Shirley

That was part of how I ended up guessing a sandwich toaster, I think the plug was left on it while cooling down, hence the nice symmetrical shape.

I've had one break in a similar manner.

Centre of V is retaining screw and gripping sides of plug to pull out means it breaks upwards from that centre point. There was another recent thread showing something similar, so I'd put it down to the usual combination of poor design and manufacture, combined with inferior choice of material.

I have seen broken plug tops is service with damaged backs and even with NO back 😬 but never one like that with a perfect V carved out the back

But as mentioned above it could be melted by leaving on top of the toaster maker
