The company i work for is NIC approved but the NIC inspector only ever assess our electrical supervisor who has only just done 17th. 3 other electricians including me who they wont send on the 17th and haven't been sent on any refresher course, finished our apprenticeship 7 years ago, we are doing PIR certs which he said was not allowed?
I heard from NIC training officer only the electrical supervisor should be doing the PIRs?
He also said it's not law that we have to do the 17th, so if we were self employed apart from bettering our carer, we don't have to do it. I found no evidence on any website to say it needs doing just that since July 2008 all domestic ect buildings have to comply with 17th.
If this is true then i would only need to read the 17th regs book. ???
If you have any better sources on website about difinitive answers to this matter please post.
Thanks.
