I don't want to be teaching granny to suck eggs, but neither of you have got anything on your websites about the proposed cut at the end of june, and moggy still has something about the 43.3p FIT on his front page.

If you're not telling people about the FIT cuts coming up, then don't be surprised if your potential customers aren't aware of them and don't know there might be any reason to get on with it. The gravy train has long gone, we all have to work that bit harder individually and collectively to get the word out there and get the work in now IMO. Sorry to single you both out, you just happened to be the last 2 to comment on it.

Yes your right, sort of. The front page refers to other installers quoting 43p and suggests contacting us for the latest information. THis seemed the easiest solution when things were changing on the rumour machine on a daily basis. Now things have settled down it would be nice to update the site, but I've got a bit of a problem with it at the moment so some of the other pages have not been updated.

I changed my laptop and now can't make changes to the site. new one is windows 7 I think, old one vista. Website is joomla.
any ideas gratefully received!!

I realised why the 43p thing had been there, but it makes a bit more sense that it's still there if you're locked out of your website.

What have you used to create the website? and which bit are you locked out of? I believe you're on UK2, in which case you can contact them and ask them to email you a new password if that's the bit you're locked out of.

Whatever you do, I'd think getting this sorted would be top priority.

btw - I'm currently battling against some issues arising from an update to the software of our site, and have just lost our contact us page and faq's due to some glitch in the matrix, as well as our front page of google slot for a few search terms due to a misguided attempt to improve the look of the front page with a new flash plug in that meant none of the text was searchable by the google bots... so I can sympathise with your predicament.

technology, I love it.:hammer:
it was originally built by a webdesigner so I don't know what he built it with. He has since dissapeared. Most of the revisions were done by me as we weren't getting any business from it. Things improved dramatically since then. I can access the adminstrator pages but when I try and type in changes nothing happens on the screen. very bizzare.
I'm currently negotiating going into business with another member on here. Once thats sorted we'll sit down and try to redo the site, it needs improving anyway.

"is THERE a storm brewing?"

Sorry guys, I can't stand spelling mistakes!

No sign of any storm over here yet..

From a quick snoop around your site it looks like Joomla, and at a guess a relatively old version.

When you say "nothing happens on the screen", do you mean that what you type doesn't appear? What browser are you using? If it is that the text doesn't appear, I'd suspect that the browser on your new laptop isn't compatible with the editor in the Joomla version you are using. You could try downloading a different browser (firefox, opera, etc.) and trying with that.

Oh, and your Pricing Page seems to have gone awol.

Matthew

(P.S. websites are my line of work, so if you need help with redoing the site drop me a PM)

thanks chap,
yes, what type in doesn't appear on the screen.
I'm using the latest windows explorer
yep, the pricing page went awol when I tried to change it tonight!!
I'll see if I can find a firefox download
