No harm in getting another two quotes.
For a fair comparrison make sure you give all parties the same information to quote on.
Maybe an idea to decide which way your going also: 4 flats or 8 studio flats.

£4,500 per flat

We charge £2500 for standard 3 bed semi rewire and that's with a plasterer following us round who may also carry out some joinery boxing in etc......

But then again we are in Liverpool and you have London prices down there, you also have mains smokes which again if we were doing a HMO or supplying a mains feed to each room would push our price up abit.....

At first it seems alot with all these thousands of pounds in figures infront of you but break it down it not all that bad.

And if he is a good spark, dosnt let you down or fail to turn up and pick alsorts of excuses up then maybe It's worth it. Ok it could be done for less but this is by the contractor going that low that he takes to much work on and is flittering from job to job not actualy getting anything done and taking part payments left right and centre

Maybe ask him if there is anyway he could trim the costs I.e £500 to fit a board....great if you do one a day but he will already be on site so that will save costs by not having to travel about. We always offer a "why we are here" price.

But then again I am just sitting about 250miles away so would really need to see the job to give a proper opinion of the job.

similar thoughts. at first glance it looks a little steep, but we don't know all the ins and outs of the job. get your other quotes, then decide based not only on price, but on your impressions of the spark, and whether you think you are getting value for money. cheapest is not necessarily the best.

You wouldn't know what the work involved until you had seen it yourself. I agree I could beat that price on face value but there's skit of sockets an other points to Serb. Also if he's looking at 8 studio flats it's going to be ALOT more, if all flats are to have there own board etc
