Discuss Is this an MCB? in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

Also, if I had to, could I use a 3 pole mcb on a single phase installation, on line and neutral?

We are not permitted to use an "independently" operated single pole protective device in the neutral 530.3.2
The three pole is not independant single pole,so I assume it would be regarded as just a double pole mcb and ok

according to the symbol on the front its a switch disconnecter, ie, isolator.
very similar to a circuit breaker symbol though;)

No!, if you look carefully it's a "x" which indicates a circuit breaker, the "-" indicates a switch disconnector-European std - DIN EN... clearly not similar else what's the use!!! :)
