If say for example you have connected a hairdryer to a fused spur and then realize after the breaker is switched back on, the hairdryer do's not work because the live incoming cable leg is snapped off as part of the ring and you are restricted on time to fix the fault immediately, so decide to remove the hairdryer that has just been fitted and screw the cover back on the fused spur. Will this be classed as dangerous and may possibly cause a fire?
I should also mention the live cable must have snapped off before, because tape had been used previously to join the cable together. I did not remove the tape due to the fact I thought it would act a insulation against arcing, even though I knew the cable was quite clearly snapped under the tape.
Any thoughts on this matter and comments I would appreciate.
