Just had my house rewired.

There are a bundle of wires behind the oven, is it safe to have them exposed like this? My worry is that the adjacent socket (used for a fitted fridge) is very difficult to reach and someone might hurt themselves trying to unplug it if the fuse ever goes.

This light has been fitted behind the ladders.

Lastly is it safe to have the socket for an extractor fan directly above the extractor where all the steam will go?

pic #1.those connectors should be enclosed, socket back box with blanking plate.
pic#2. move the ladders.
pic#3: generally the socket is enclosed by the extractor chimney. some sparks prefer the socket or FCU outside the chimney, but customers like them hidden away. either way, it's not as problem. a FCU woud be a better option though.

Beaten to it again, darn it.

cables need securing and a blank plate fitted.

Is this ladder a fixed fire escape? the light was there first by the looks of it.

When I first become a Q.S I put a stop to the lads doing this as when the halogen fuse blows (3A) the homeowner has to dismantle the chimney wasn't assessable in my opinion so put a switched fused spur above units with a 1.0mm to the chimney connecting with j.b..

Are this Wagos been left as the 'finished job' ?

IF yes then its a bit rough imo , looks like this is the spot the sparks decided to break and extend the ring

Thanks all. Mainly just wanted to check things are safe.

I’ll def get my spark to look at enclosing the socket connectors :)
You should have been given an installation certificate that says the rewire work complies with BS7671. If he’s given you one, then tell him it doesn’t comply.
Ask him where it is if he hadn’t given you one. Also make sure he has notified the local authority, you should have a Completion Certificate too.

Certificate or not, the enclosed connections and lack of mechanical protection doesn't comply with BS7671.
