Is this safe?

I am renting a property where all of the bathroom lights suddenly stopped working. I understand the transformer was at adult which was above the ceiling. The landlord has taken 2.5 weeks to get to this point, during which time I have not used the bathroom as the spotlights were hanging down from the ceiling and all the wiring exposed. The latest work shows numerous holes in the ceiling; the one I am especially concerned about is the one pictured, above the shower head. I assume this is still unsafe and the bathroom should not be used?

With the position of that light and the chase in the boards I question the fittings integrity, It could have an open hole in it but please do not go poking around in it.
Put your rough location, we'll probably have a member near you who could come to see this and advise you better

The fan looks like it's falling out and I'm lost for words about the ceiling. Did the contractor leave it like that? Is he coming back to finish it maybe? I probably wouldn't use that shower as it is at the moment.

Apologies, I wrote the original post rather quickly. At adult is indeed meant to say at fault!

Rest assured, I have no intention of poking around in any of the holes as I am certainly not an electrician. This is how the bathroom was left with, what I assume, is for someone to come round and patch up the holes.

Reading around the subject of lights in bathrooms, the light fittings are in zone 2 (0.6 metres above the shower cubicle). I assume, therefore, that the ceiling and wires must be adequately protected from splashes that may arise around that area.

In short, my assumption is, is that the bathroom should not be used as it is potentially dangerous.

The description of zone 2, as far as ceiling lights are concerned, are not measured from the shower cubicle but from the shower basin. If the ceiling is 2.25m above the basin, the lights are considered outside the zones. Not saying its safe as it is, just not zone 2

2.25m is actually measured from finished floor level as daft as it is, but equipment and wiring systems must also be suitable for external influences present regardless of zones.
