I like megger bit that is overcomplicating a simple tester to the point where it is going to take more time program it than actually use it.

Get in one time. Make sure you ware a gimb mask.

My dad had a Seaward think he paid around 50 quid for it

Great bit of kit and as you say did it all for the fraction of the cost of a new Meggar or Fluke

Never in a million years would I pay £1600 for a MFT

I paid around £250 for my second hand FLuke 1652 MFT and it does everything I need

Given the apparent step BACK in testing we took with Amd2; how much of this crap as actually needed?

Just had a look a TIS Pro kit and local wholesale place . The sales guy from TIS said they are coming out with a subscription based "form filler" program . So when doing a EICR . you tell it you are doing the test and it will put all the results in the right places .Now thats saving time for sure !!
