I have a quick question, I have my part p inspection on Friday, I have changed my CU as my competed job for inspection as it needed doing anyway however I have one question.

I fitted a split board, it came with one isolation switch and one RCD, I am on a TT system so I wanted full protection and changed the isolation switch for a second RCD, now I have set if up with the first RCD looking after light up and sockets down and the second RCD with the opposite bit with the shower added to that.

Now as I have done this I don't have a one main isolation switch on the board, to isolate everything you have to turn off both RCD's, is this ok?

I have checked the regs and all it states is circuits must have a method of isolation that it double pole Whitchurch my RCS's are

thanks for all the advice, when i got the board i assumed it was a full split load twin RDC board, only once i started installation i realised it was split load bit with only one RCD (damn Wickes) any how today i managed to squeeze in the main switch again and feed the two RDS from that as i had some 80A meter tails left from another job so i used them to cable it, its very tight in there but everything fist snug;)

i have added below pick of the CU finished, please ignore the tape on the lives i have now removed that it was just for identification, any one see any issues that could give me problems with the inspection ?

i appreciate your feedback as its my first board change.

its a mess is the first thing that springs to mind , looks a real d.i.y job, tales are non harmonised , not stripped correcty should not be seeing that red, poor terminations-copper showing, none of the neutrals or cpcs correspond , no cover over busbar, looks like a 40amp supplying 6mm2 , i know it sounds awful,l just read its your 1st change but you really should know better , personally i would take it off and start again, try curling the wires neatley cct1 should match neutral and cpc 1 , make sure you put all relevent labells on it aswell. sorry for being so harsh but i see far too many so called sparks pulling stunts like this

Unfortunately I have to agree with the post above. I know it is your first, so please try and take the criticism constructively. For gods sake get a bus bar cover on the install. Neaten it up and make sure all the cores correspond to the correct circuit number, it is so frustrating when it comes to testing an older board and you have to trace every core. Have a little look at 'show your installs' and see how experienced sparks do it. It is not hard, but it takes a bit of practice and guidance.

On a positive note you have left the conductors long as they should all reach the furthest corner of the board. I know thats not always possible with a board change as they've already been chopped.
I seen a new build the other day and they were all cut off to just reach terminations thus no room for future changes.
Also you have put them in cpc, neutral and then line so thats correct.

Good on you for putting it up. Taking the constructive criticism to learn.

I too would take it all out and redo for the extra practice
and make sure all terminations are firm as I looked at a messy board once touched one conductor and it fell out.
