lol, i tracked his visist on the website and the keyword he landed from, then looked at all the companies on the first page, me you, appolo, type "solar panel installers west yorkshire" into google, thats what he searched to fill in my form.

i was thinking exactly the same till you posted this, never mind eh, lets make sure one of us gets it and not the others ;-)

We've had 2 enquiries but customers are very cautious about spending their money now as the nights are drawing in and very wary about having us round to survey because they are being harrassed by sales people from other firms.

I'm insuring at the minute and one of the insurers I was talking to was at the NEC last week he was telling me that firms that were installing 20/day last year are lucky to hit 2/3 a week now - not good.

We're seeing the market pick up, and have taken a completely different approach, instead of talking about the FiT we ask them why they are interested (usual answer is 'security' of supply price) and then we point out how now is actually a far better time to install and why they will get a better return today than last year, so they haven't 'missed the boat'

We also find that some of their neighbours / friends are 'rubbing it in' a bit over the FiT income

Last year 12k for a 4kW, payback say 10 years, then x and z (electricity)

This year 7k for a 4kW payback say 10 years then y and z -- HOWEVER, they are getting the same size system as there neighbours and now they've still got 5K in the bank.

I'm actually more confident now than I was in May about the future of PV - perhaps it helps that we have more already contracted now than we did then.

If we can shift our own perception of the value of PV, (not just the FiT payment), then it makes it easier to sell / get the message over. - My shift in mindset has definitely helped.

I was looking at the listings in google and all the ads are from lead generators and the only installer there is solar essence ???

Not sure if its worth going back on google as there are to many get 6 quotes sites out there ...

Need to click on all of them. They have to pay Google. Do this a few thousand times and they would be out of business :teeth_smile:

Although, Google have method of tracking fraudulent clicks so need to get around that.
