Tried to login to the forum admin panel yesterday (Tuesday) and I was locked out, the forum said my password had changed. Asked @westward10 to reset it but he couldn't as my admin level is one higher than his. Did some investigating and my messing around with the database Monday upset the authentication system that the forum uses.

So it wasn't just me locked out it would have been anybody who was logged out or trying to login on a new device would have got the same issue.

I had to roll back the forum to early hours of Sunday morning to make sure I got a good copy, as it takes about 6 hours to restore because its huge.

Did just the database first but it didn't work, so did the whole site (all images and site files too) and now we're back online and running as usual.

We've just lost the threads and posts from Sunday morning to now. So I apologise for that!

I promise I wont mess with the database again until January - so that's my balls up for this year done and out the way. ha

hangs head in shame

Haha thought I was going crazy after trying a few different devices that store the passwords I knew it straight away I had issues.

I was logged in at first and speaking to Westy via PM about it but then I had to go and click log out didn't I.

You know the best passwords that would take the longest to crack are simple three word ones. Takes longer to crack than using one word and some numbers and even a special character.

It's why 3 words were chosen for what 3 words (the per square meter map of the world).
