Are you planning to go off-roading in it or are you just after the higher driving position?

It is for getting me to work regardless of the weather mate, whether small floods or heavy snow I need to get to work due to the work I am currently doing, it needs to be a 4x4, lenny has been very helpful on the other side as you mentioned to be honest.

Yeah, seemed to remember from a few years ago, when he was still on here, that he knew his stuff about them.:tank:

Probably not what you are looking for buy i got myself a new Ford Kuga in January nearly 12 months ago on a 63 plate, its nice, but it really lacks some basic stuff like telling you when you are out of washer fluid and also has no RDS adjust on the clock.

I got the 2 Litre turbo diesel 4x4 Titanium X version, yeah its nice, but I only get about 350 miles out a tank which is rubbish, i get 500 in the van.

Looks exactly the same as this one.

I had a company Grand Cherokee limited ed in Suadi, like other big engined Yank mobiles they drink fuel at an alarming rate!! A nice car, drives nice, holds big loads, lot's of luxury etc. Annoyingly component bits are not of the best quality and was prone failing on a fairly regular basis. It wouldn't be my choice of vehicle for use in the UK, the major reason being running/fuel costs. I don't think i've ever seen a non automatic Grand Cherokee.

I just had a quick look at the link, I wouldn't take much notice of those MPG figures, i doubt you'd get even 20 mpg urban, diesel or not out of these heavy vehicles, 30 mpg average is just pure wishful thinking....

the earlier cherokee 2.5 diesel gave around 25mpg urban. a bit better than the 2.8 shogun diesel.

The modern jeeps are better regarding fuel economy, the engines are actually mercedes engines in the newer models and do perform better Eng.

should do it. but now that the mechanical parts are so reliable, manufacturers add these stupid unecessary electronic gizmos that break and stop a perfectly good engine from working. just so as you have to keep going back and spending the price of an engine on servicing parts that should have been skipped and the so-called designer hung, drawn and quartered.

engine management is my right foot. end of.

4x4 transmission saps quite a bit of energy. The engine performance is much higher now than it was but I think fuel economy is not much different TBH. Because the power is better, they can pull taller gearing so 4x4's are much better now at cruising speeds and is not revving its nuts off at 70 MPH.

Yes I see your point, I think cruising down the motor way obviously uses little energy and around town burns the fuel, I have owned 4x4s before and know what they do, you will get 25 to the gallon with a modern 4x4 diesel engine if it is driven properly, a 4 litre petrol lol, well thats another story.

true, but the 4l straight 6 petrol will never go wrong. it'll pull a house down. and it's smoother than kylie minog's bum.
