Kebab shops... brings back memories of Friday nights in the UK when I was there in the 80's. In those days there was no creamflow and it was still chippies. I was at Uni and living in digs in Moss Side at the time and I regularly used to walk to my favourite chippy in Fallowfield called The Windy Harbour.
I know I was drinking Trophy Bitter out of party 7s, I used to actually like it at the time, It was like battery acid really though absolutely disgusting stuff, but it was that or that lager ****e the kids today like to drink, I used to make my own stout 20 years ago as well with my dad, we had all the kit at his house and I would pop in 2-3 times a week for tasters lol, that was yeasty but pretty strong stuff and still better than the lager ****e.

I remember those big tins of beer in the UK, they had a useless rubber stopper type thing in the top which didn't stop it going flat so you had to drink the entire thing once you'd opened it (that was my excuse anyway).

We also used to brew our own beer as students, we had several dustbins full of the stuff all at various stages of brewing. I remember well the stuff tasted gawd-awful but it did the trick and it certainly kept you regular, you had to plan your next day around proximity to toilets.

It’s making me feel queasy thinking about those bloody awful party7 cans. We still drank them though, god knows how. We thought they were a good idea in the late 60’s, but then we discovered cider wasn’t taxed as heavily as beer.

On the subject of beer, tried a new one today (just looked at the time, correction, yesterday) a larger bitter. Bitter fermented using the lager process. Spring Green Had to have 5 or 6 pints just to make sure I liked it.
