Hi folks have one here which someone can help . Started my apprenticeship back in 1990 done my 236 part 1 and part 2 have also completed my AM1 and AM 2 all completed by 1993 . problem only came to light when I applied for a card and was asked for my deed or completion certificate to which i never seen , so me goes back to my parents house in roof space I find my JIB Contract all filled in by employers etc only problem is I didn't send it of 31 years ago to JIB to get my deed or completion cert . I've run my own business for the last 23 years and Niceic registered have all my exams up to current . My apprenticeship was first registered in 1990 and and been seen on the ECS but the status still says completing . My question is who would I contact now because its so long and apprenticeships have changed since then . any help would be appreciated .

Get in touch with the ECS if you have the completed deeds in your possession this shouldn't be a problem.

I don't remember having to send anything off at all as far as I remember on successfully passing the AM2 everything was handled by the company you did the Apprenticeship with and the Grade card was issued and the deeds sent to you signed or stamped in my case as completed.

If it helps I could dig mine out to see what it says on it I am sure it is stamped but it was a long time ago so cannot remember the exact chain of events.

I think the fact you have the deeds in your possession it is likely they have been signed or stamped by your employer because you signed them (along with a parent) when you started and they were kept by the company until you completed the Apprenticeship.

Just dug mine out

The section to be completed by the JIB was typed and there are 2 circles that have JIB embossed stamps in them.

As I said previously I don't remember sending anything off but could be mistaken.

OK reading it I understand the process. You signed the Contract initially then it is registered with the JIB so they had it. Then on completion it was returned, I presume it would have been returned to my employer for them to sign then given to me.

It was signed by my employer but not dated.

This is how I remember it I don't remember ever sending anything off.

The 2 stamps on JIB bit one is for the contract being registered and one is for the completion if that helps.

Funnily enough the contract terminated on the 11th and completed on the 19th!

Hi m8 is the jib contract the deed ?

Yes I think back in the dark old days they were called deeds but are now called contracts and some still refer to it as deeds like I did!

Yeh mine was bever sent of to get stamped for completion

Sounds like your employer notified the JIB but never sent them the contract?

I think your best bet is to contact the JIB and explain your situation I am sure they will sort it out for you.
