Just went to look at a job. Student accomodation. 4 bedrooms. 1 kitchen.

Kitchen - 10 double sockets- 4 low mounted for appliances.
Bedrooms - 4 double sockets - 2 of sockets on dado trunking.
Hallway - 2 single sockets -2 emergency lights

Bedrooms one central light and a mirror light.
8 switches - flush grid
4 PIR light switch's
4 extractor fans
Electric Oven

All in singles and black enamel conduit.

Apparently 4 sparks have let these guys down. Job looks like a right ball ache lots of bends etc.

I think it needs a new board because existing one I have never seen before and looks like it will be near impossible to find circuit breakers etc. Also the board is supplying other parts of the building which is not under construction...communial lighting etc...

What price would you put on this. Ceiling height is about 4 meters. the area is about 25m2. False ceiling is going in and conduits are to go into existing tray work.

All materials are provided so its just labour costs.

I may be a bit slow or missing summat here. There's false ceilings going up so why are is conduit being used.

It's on the spec mate. All singles and conduit. Wants to knock me down by doing drops steel and above ceilings push fit. Also wants an electric meter putting in but there is absolutely f all space in cupboard! Isn't it dno's job to put meter in?

I'd go with that aswell, steel truncking, above ceiling, then just do your drops. Landlords sometimes want there own meters, just to keep an eye on what the communal areas are using, not unusual. have you managed to find someone to jump on it with you elecricalserve.

PM me mate, if you win the job and get stuck, Will possibly be
able to help you out, have just started working for myself, so am not full of work at the moment, waiting for a big rewire to start. Am also on Merseyside.
