Hi all, after much consideration and after years of working away every week i have decided to try to set up my own business to start as soon as possible in the new year,i have decided to join the nic and would like an insite to the dreaded visit from them to view your work, question you, look over your insurance etc which all seams a bit daunting to me !
I can fully understand the reasons behind the visit but hope the nerves don,t get the better of me on the day,any help to make this visit flow more easily and how best to be prepared for it pls will be very much appreciated,
thank-you.

Are you talking about the domestic installer or approved contractor route?

I think for DI you need 6 months of trading and for AC they are looking for at least a year (whether this is enforced may be down to the individual assessor).

If you do a search on this site, you'll find literally 50 or 60 posts on this subject, even listing the common questions asked by assessors and the types of work used for assessment.

Edit the AC scheme is also 6 months
