Things must have changed then, as i was under the impression that you needed to have been operating as a company/sole trader for 3 years before being able to gain Approved contractor Status!!!

They cut to the cloth to suit, they don't want to turn away custom.

I remember you had to produce 5 jobs and if you didn't you had to pay for another inspection.

My NIC engineer made it clear that 1 was ok to visit but the risk of non-compliance was much higher if there was an issue.

Things are changing. We had the ECA in this week and they said that inspections look like moving to every 3 years. The NIC bloke said the same last November to me.

Saves them time and money but your fee every year will be the same with out the inspection.

Once upon a time Being an Approved Contractor with the NICEIC actually meant something, not anymore any Tom, Dick or Harry can get that status now. They are now just another scam organisation that's sole reason for it's existence is chasing the almighty buck!!

I do agree on most parts, but IMO approved contractor is still regarded higher than other part p scams and their own domestic installer status. Plus you have to have an Nvq 3 to become principal duty holder or a QS for approved contractor status. Ps I also know how you feel about the Nvq 3 lol.

I agree completely.

My statement Will probably go down like a pork sausage in a synagogue on here though lol

Only by those that think they are above everyone else. Some people on here no matter what is brought in by the way of qualifications even if it were a 10 year 7 day a week work program would never admit it to being any good.

Anyway those are the past and we are the future.

You have the 2391, plenty don't mate and plenty failed to pass it and that's something the NIC once upon wanted to see a QS have.

At least you don't hide behind the NIC logo like plenty do. A lot of small potatoes get a mug to front it for them because with out the logo they couldn't get a start as a Spark so use the logo to ponce a living.
