Hi all
Just qualified last Monday and I have completed both initial and periodic test and inspection courses. What is the process for joining the niceic if you have never been part of a part p scheme before, as I have only ever worked for companies who signed off all works, I have never signed off anything myself. I understand the requirements needed, insurances and complaints systems etc, but how would they carry out assessments on my work if I haven’t been able to sign anything off yet. Some guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

My very first assessment was a board change and 2 sockets at my own house

Best thing is to ring them and see if you can use your own house for your 1st assessment

I'm in the same boat, been qualified years ago but just about to start on my own. For a approved contractor scheme, been told by NIC that I need 3 properties for the 1st assessment. Will ring up Napit as well to find out wether they're a bit more relaxed for the new starters
