Hi. Up and downstairs have been interconnected in many places. RCBO's for each circuit won't work without re-wiring. Originally on 3036's. board been upgrded to RCBO's on all else. Is it better to a) put up and down on same RCBO? b) put both circuits into 6a mcb's so they are separate still. Or put an rcd to protect the two 6a mcb's in a desperate board?
there is no earth on any lighting, nor have i altered its wiring from when i arrived. So is it ok to leave un rcd protected so it stays as was or use an rcd to protect it?

id like to use and rcd to protect 2mcb's but there is only 3ways left in board(need 4 otherwise)

hmm did the guy bang his head or something?

an mcb provides overload protection

an rcbo stands for RESISDUAL CURRENT BREAKER with OVERLOAD protection

basically an rcbo is an rcd and a breaker in one magic box

why would someone use an rcbo to protect mcbs is a little off really, if its tight for ways install another ccu next to it or replace with a bigger one

if you get hold of the live you yourself form the leakage path to earth. the RCD should trip before the current through your body reaches the magical 30mA.

not sure where were at here,
RCBO is rcd and mcb in one right
if you had an 80a main switch and then an rcd protecting two mcbs isnt that in principle overload protection and rcd protection protecting 2 mcbs.
so a 10a rcbo protecting two 6a mcb (which yes is wrong and wont be done) but isnt that the same sorta thing its overload and earth leakage protecting mcb's of a lower rating?
Also there is no more space, hence the reason of space constraints. nothing will fit..

Let the harrassment begin again

I have already collected the money and moved on, but i am sending my mate from the pub to finish the last easy bits off i.e. testing and certification and the spiel about how **** the lighting is and they should pay me more to do the lighting. and they get to enter a raffle for one free minor works. the cowboy special.

But no seriously thanks to everyone, despite what some may say this forum is helpful and the people are broadly knowledgeable.
