The ones that will "get inside " back boxes etc to strip . ANy good ?

Yes absolutely brilliant! Before I bought mine I always used a ck electricians knife to strip cable. What a revolution, I really like it but they should make a bigger pair for 4-6mm!

They are brilliant but as Tel has said struggles with some outer sheathing.
Prysmian cables seem to be the main culprit, I think it's something to do with not using chalk in the manufacturing process.

And theres me liking Prysmian cables ! Ive noticed the chalk makes a huge difference .Not sure what other brand to use as Screwfix is super close to me and their cable prices not too bad.

I was very much of that opinion too @Pete999 it was the way I was taught to do it, but I couldn't believe how much faster & easier these made life, even on flex, cat 5 ect you can strip it with no damage to the insulation, fast!

I notice that Toolstation stock Pitacs and their price is currently slight lower than Screwfix - not sure if there's one close to you, but one big shed is the same as another and Pitacs seems to have a decent reputation.

If its nice to work with and easy to strip etc .I will buy it. The copper side of cable is not something i have heard to be a issue these days ????

I use a knipex one that slightly cuts the insulation of t+e. It's pretty good. Nor had it long and heard it wears out quick so I will have to see on that

I'd have thought this is way more risky in catching the inner insulation and definitely slower

I'd go for strippers every day, wire and cable are just plain boring! Definitely get yourself a stripper! (Failing that Id use ck crops)
