Just wanted to post a quick thanks to all on here for all the help and advice that has been made available for people new to the trade like me.
Just passed my assessment as a domestic installer with NICEIC. Assessor was really nice and patient - despite my nerves!
My Major was my own C/U which i replaced with a full RCBO board. My Minor was a socket with a fused spur, and I also showed him a garage install that I completed at the same location.
Talked through regs, all the different building regs that apply such as fire etc... all documentation and certificates checked, a few minor mistakes which were corrected after discussion.
Testing - Safe isolation!!! first and foremost!! I did a ZE test and also a continuity test on the ring. I also did a ZS on socket circuit, and he checked how I had terminated the submain to the garage which I did in 6mm swa.
All in all nowhere near as bad as I was expecting - oh and I went for choclate hobnobs and jammy dodgers
