i have a creda tcr2 tumble dryer and wasnt drying clothes properly, so done some reading and was able to check element which 1 out of 3 elements was intact, so i replaced at a cost of £50, now the water is not going into the container so after researching again i think its the water pump which i have located at the back of the machine but its now another £30. does any of youy guys got any good advice for me in fault finding on appliances. my sister has a service contract on her tumble dryer and the guy comes and uses laptop.

so real question is can i get thiis same information anywhere or does fixing appliANCES come with expierience.. thanks

well ive ripped of foam seal between drum and back pannel as has burn marks and the pump at the bottom right hand corner of back pannel is different from one that it reccomends. had the whole unit stripped today , would turning it on now without back seal be a bad idea??? thanks

should be pump like this, the back seal wont make much difference just to test it

Did a course (years ago) when the guy was talking about maintenance and repair plus the economics of it and he put it like this a washing machine has an expected lifespan of 7 years in fact manufacturers ramp up and down their production to what they sold seven years ago. So I said what if I want to repair my washing machine well economicaly he said forget it what about top of the range models again forget it he said. So by chance my washing machine broke down and I spent £50 fixing it then 6 monthe later I spent £95 fixing it now being it was a £250 machine I said sod it and bought another and since then wether it be a washing machine or a dishwater if it (and it useally is) 7 or more years old I buy another one so in the last 24 years I have bought 3 all the same model but funny enough all bought for £250 (do the math for inflation if you like) first 2 lasted just over 7 years and because they were electro mechanical the parts were too expensive to justify repairing now saying this my current electronic version is coming up for 9 years so I am living on borrowed time and I know it but I have my £250 ready and it will be a in out job get yourself a beer for a job well done instead of I thought you said the part would come on Friday 5 days with no washing............................you know the rest
