Apparently the glass finish, although it's fantastic to see, isn't worth working for. Nowt will stick to it

Had a ceiling skimmed a while back, you can spot the area his boy did!
I haven't been showered with flakes of paint from the good bit yet. :)

When I worked for a builder bloke we had a plasterer who could do that glass finish thing but on walls it was only down to about knee height.

He was too fat to reach any further down to get to floor level so from knee height up was like glasss but below that it was as rough as the proverbial badger's ...........

The poor bloke needed a new heart valve and was told he had to stop drinking and lose a lot of weight before the op. could be done, but he liked his beer too much and kept on going. Eventually it became an emergency and the operation had to go ahead anyway but it was too late & he didn't survive.

I've not read the whole thread, but the get together idea has been kicked about before a few times and never really been able to work - geography just gets in the way. We tried on another forum to do a Crimbo bash and I think the best it got to was a few of the Geordies having a brew or two one night. I also rarely get to any of the Elec trade events as just too busy/far/can't be arsed from Somerset. Sarz - there's a number of us here from the SW if you want to try your hand as a party planner.

In Rowlands Gill there's a fork in the road with a church planted right in the centre of it. Anyway, the devil dodger there used to put up signs on the notice board, one of which was "Jesus loves you" It was a bloody huge sign and was obviously intended to cheer people up. A mate of mine knocked up the addition to it I mentioned above (not clown, the naughty c word) and got it laminated so it would be weatherproof and stuck it under Jesus loves you.

It was there a week before the devil dodger found out and removed it
