Just what should an Electrician get paid

Thought I would start another post, there are different ideas about what an electrician can and should do. What is his skill level in regard to other trades etc. I feel a proper time served Spark has done the same time as a junior Doctor and yet is on a lot less pay, I thought I would stick a poll up and hope you all chip in, well until it gets trashed of course lol, I reckon a time served electrician even at 21 years old should be on at least £15.00 an hour, what do you think? options in the poll

Ahhh, I completely misunderstood, I thought s/e was short for South East....as in London, not self employed.

£15.00 cards in is what I would think is a fair wage for completing a 4 year apprenticeship.

I was on £15 S/E a few years ago. The problem is that was a decent rate until the price of everything went up. Suddenly that £15 an hour doesn't go very far then.

We can't carry on year after year getting this sort of money. The unskilled labour force is catching us up fast.

Have you seen what the staff at Aldi are on?

Not exactly even semi-skilled.

Let me offer a different perspective here.

With the bonus scheme with the council I work for, the bin men get the same as me if I am on dayworks!

Trouble is getting a good hour rate as the punter does not see the cables in the wall etc, then you have got the B&Q warriors have ago boys who have done a weeks course and think the a spark, what a load of sh?t ,

£15 per hour....£120 a day!!!!! labourer gets £100, painter and dec gets more than £120, infact I bet a road sweeper earns more.....infact taxidermy would be a better living, tell ya wot theres no way I'd do this for less than £20 per hour, although you'd have to wear a condom..oops wrong forum

Luis Suárez £40,817.00 per hour , thats working 7 days a week 7 hours a day, , so for good honest sparks it should be at least £80,0000 an hour
