Kitchen fixed prices

Been offered some work from a kitchen fitter. It is fixed prices and I think the prices are a bit tight. Prices are - new socket - £25. Relocate socket - £18. Cooker circuit - £100. Replace CU - £250. I would be responsible for supplying the gear and also no travel expenses paid

way too cheap. in order, £50- £60, £35-£45, £150 -£200, £300-£400.

That's exactly what I was thinking tel. He did day he has a labourer who would do all raggling. He said he only gets £30 a sicket

Would this be a Wickes kitchen fitter? The one i work for has a set price list from Wickes for electrical work

It isn't wickes Ryan, it is another national kitchen company fairly large company. Are the prices I have wen offered in like with the wickes prices?

Check what radius from home you'd be expected to work. If it's a national outfit you could find them expecting some long distances, and with no travel allowances being paid that could be very uncomfortable.

The wickes list is slightly healthier. Not as much as Tels suggestion but better than yours. Wickes also ask for a copy of your part p docs to keep on file

If you've got nothing better to do on those days and you want some pin money for a beer that night then why not! But if you want to use it to make a living I'd be staying well clear ..... once you're locked in at those prices you're locked in!

Thing is I am busy anyway so not desperate for the work. Plus doing this work would take me away from other jobs. I reckon the prices are too low to commit to I think at least £40 per socket.

Other prices were £25 supply plinth lights £25 supply under cabinet lights £25 connect appliance

Ouch, so it could be 2 hours before you start!

I wouldn't do them for those prices, way to cheap, expecially for the South East.

That said if you are desperate for work....

Jez, not sure how you would make money on that! My break even point on a double socket is £43.00 excl VAT
