Don't do a lot of domestic myself but am rewiring my kitchen.
I don't really want a load of fused spurs above the work tops so looking at what ppl do usually when the same has been required?
Is it just sockets low down at the back of units or grid switching?

Thanks

... an industry recognised qualification should be all that's required...

.... and better still back it up with some on-going assessment to prove practical competency and understanding of latest regs as part of an overall competent to practise qualification depending on what industry you are in! Oh, isnt that what they were meant to be doing with Part 'P' for domestic work ......... says he after completing an EICR at the week-end with 30+ 'observations' on a house subject to 'DIY' by a time-served "industrial" electrician who completed his apprenticeship in the early 60's!!

I particularly had to sniggle at the electric shower circuit installed straight off the meter -- I wont say which side to protect the guilty!

Did someone mention The Law...

I have advised the new owners to speak to the DNO as a matter of urgency, as well as enquiring as to the method of earthing "connection" to the supply feed (and extension thereof by twisting together of cables) .... in their words, "we didnt have an electrical inspection because we thought by buying it from an electrican the electrics would have been right"
