We generally work at 1100mm from finished floor level to the bottom of the back box I'm not sure how that coverts in to imperial


1100mm is 43inches and a smoke-end. you need to be precise in this game.
 
i always line up the bottom of the back box @ 4" or 6" above worktop. that way there's a better than even chance that tony tiler gets his tiles straight.
 
Depends how much you want too annoy the tiler, I usually go as others have said worktop height plus height of one tile to underside to make it easier too tile. But I have been known to put them in the middle of a tile before because the tiler is a complete arse.
 
Personally I do them 1100 to the middle of the box above a worktop, just looks the best height to me not too high not too low, as have found in the past, putting them 1200 to top to match everything else is a little high when above a worktop.
Also who gives a rats behind about the tiler etc....nobody makes it easier for us.
